Ayurvedic Therapy: Early Morning Water Medicine That Flush And Purify Both Your Digestive And Excretory Systems Part1



In my treatment on the citrus fruit juices, I wrote it is better on waking up from sleep to have a warm cup of the citrus fruit juices in other to flush the body system.

 I add that even a cup of cool water is much better without the citrus fruit juices as a last resort before eating the early morning breakfast. Drinking water early in the morning is what is called ayurvedic therapy. This water helps to flush and cleanse your digestive system before breakfast. It is good you cleansed your belly before loading it with any meal in the morning.

 I further state that I usually take a cup of cool water an hour before treating myself to the citrus fruit juices as my pre-breakfast meal for the early morning activity before the day’s work.

Dehydration Or Fever?

Before a person wake up from sleep, or during sleep after mid night, one feels feverish at times. You wake up and take a capsule or medication for the fever, right? 

I have experienced this issue. This is because during sleep, your body dehydrates and calls for water medicine and not a synthetic western medicine or medication.

When you sleep, the body though inert is doing some sort of work that takes a lot of energy and releasing carbon dioxide and water vapour via, breathing out. This is where dehydration comes into play during sleep.

Did you sweat during sleep? Again you will lost some water via the skin pores. Do all these counts? Yes, it does. This loss can dehydrate you.

So this water that is lost we though insignificant as it seems, need to be replaced. What about the lost when you wake up to urinated? All these count very much as in the day time. We usually replaced all these losses in eating during the day. But at night while sleeping we do not feel or border to wake up and eat. It is not usually.

Like as I say, I experienced the problem. I think it was a fever. But in the morning and day time it is all gone. It will only occur during sleep again.

And so if I had this feeling again, I will just wake up and gulp down a glass of water slowly. That is all that I need.

Now, if I do not feel feverish during the day time, how come it is experienceable during my sleeping hours?

During sleep, the body dehydrates much faster than during the working periods because one is in a position to eat, drink fluids and snack fruits and vegetables.

To avoid the condition of dehydration in the night time as I sleep, I treat myself to a 50 cl of cool water very early in the morning (12.00 midnight if I chance to wake up). I can wake up anytime between 12.00 AM  and 4.00 AM and will again have another glass of water. Then on fully waking up from sleep, another 1 glass of water before juicing with a glass of the citrus fruit juices (at times along with a cup of cucumber fruit) which provide additional pure water to my digestive and excretory system. Remember cucumber is one of the only fruits that have a Glycemic Index (GI) of zero. It has no starch or sugar. It’s energy value is zero. Its water is naturally pure and ionized. It will help much in rehydrating and flushing both your digestive and excretory system very early in the morning before taking your main breakfast.

Ayurdrvic do not involve eating any fruits and vegetables. It is based solely on drinking water. I do want to make myself very clear here.

This second treatment is my mach2 (I beg your pardon) so to speak. I think you can understand it better. The cucumber fruit help in finetoning the cleansing process like as in 2 in1 razor blade for a neater shaving. This is what I mean by mach2.

Early Morning Water Treatment

The practice is now popularly known as early morning water treatment or drinking water in the morning, or water therapy. Again, it is also called hydrotherapy or treatment by water. 

They say it is an ancient ayurvedic medicine treatment for curing certain diseases and iIl-health. 

Whatever the case, it is natural for a person to wake up late at night for a cup of water. Here some people fail to note their sense of taste. Again, it is even more so natural that you drink a cup of water as you should be somehow thirsty when you wake up from sleep. Have you never experienced such questions before? I do.

In course of his political imprisonment in Iran, some 17 years ago, Dr. Batmanghelidj  contact a stress related disease ulcer, and submitted himself to drinking only water.

He got healed and was compel to treat his fellow prisoners with only water, and this experiment was again a success to the amazement of all.

After his release from prison, he devoted himself to research on hydrotherapy and published his many findings to the world as his legacy.

In this way, what is a hidden secret in ayurvedic is made known to all. Are we making much use of this?

A bodily symptom like headache, can be an undistinguish sigh of dehydration. We usually say it signified a feverish condition and we go for medication. Pre-mature balding can be a sign of dehydration. There are many others like cancer, joint pains, dyspepsia, etc.

But the prescription we are given is taken down our throats with a full glass of water. Or what else do you think it is? I have seen a person taken his/her doctors prescriptions with a bottle of mineral or malt drink instead of water. What do you think is the principal ingredient of these drinks contain? Water!

Water Is Also Food

Water can be considered as a food. Water is the only food that has no energy. In my basic biology lessons, I was informed water is also food. It is usually classified last after the vitamin and mineral salts and so we usually ignored this food item in most cases. But it will help to release the energy the body needs for some activities. If you drink a lot of water in the morning, you will not go hungry soon. If you drink a lot of water during meal, you will eat less. Why do you think is this? 

Certain persons go on a long fast without eating any food. But they cannot go this far without water. It provided the dissolving element and removal of all the waste generate in the body.

Denied the body without water for a long time, too much waste will gather in the colon, kidney and liver.   

 These wastes have to be dissolved and removed by water. Nothing can do better than water here. Ignored 
 this and all your bodily system becomes poisoned. 

Water is also the principal constituent of the body. All the body system on overall is 80% water; the remainder being mineral matters that made up of what is called flesh and bone. So if a person weights 100kg, he /she is 80% water and 20% flesh and blood.

Drink Water In The Morning

In the morning on waking up, have a glass or two of water before anything else, than you can go on  drinking that favorite warm cup of tea with add milk and sugar after an hour or so.

Some authorities say you should drink 1.5 litre of water. This is about 5 to 6 glass of water. This is excellent if you are on a weight reducing program, and if you are facing a seriously condition like leukemia or kidney problem. In most cases, you should even see your doctor for the issue. But I have not in the morning drink 5 glass of water on waking up from sleep.

Drinking too much water can also have a serious side effect on the body if you are not facing any bodily issue. The liver will be over burden with too much work. It is this organ that regulates the water content of the body and helps in excreting excess water from the body. Do not abuse it. Doing so is also asking for trouble.

Again, drinking too much water during meals can even be bad for digestion. It destroyed the medium enzyme reactions takes place and can cause constipation if the salt-sugar balance is neutralized. A sip here and there during meal to dissolve the digested foods is all that is need during meal time.

An Handful Of Peanuts Maintain Both Good Health And Heart Health Part2



Peanuts seem to be more heart friendly than any other nuts in the same family of legumes. Another name for this food is groundnuts which is the most common name. But according to Wikipedia, peanut is not actually a nut in the technical sense of the word. It is a legume because it did not develop from a fruit or into a fruit.
There are two types of peanuts to note, the small seed and the large seed varieties. The smaller seeds have a high oil or fat content than the large seeds.

Common sense will tell you to go for the large seeds if you want to lose some weight. Also if you are moderately active go for the large seeds because it will help in controlling weight gain to a reducing or zero level. In other words, the weight you gain from consuming such large seed nuts will be used in your moderate activities and will found no storage space in the body.

Also persons who are afraid of eating peanuts due to fear of gaining weight will do well in taking only a small handful of the large nuts say 3.5 oz which is about 26 pieces (seeds) of the nuts to munch daily along with meals. 

This will help protection against heart related and coronary heart diseases, and other age relate cognitive decline issues and stroke.

As a person who has been eating these peanuts daily for years, I eat them daily with any meal. I eat them with my breakfasts and lunch or supper. For example, I add them to all my oat meals and rice.  Peanut and semi-brown rice makes a good combination in protein food complements; and in food synergy. I take some as snacks. So far, I eat peanuts three times in a day, morning, noon and evening either alone or with any other of my meals as a supplement or complement.

All the talks about health risks with the exception of allergy reactions in certain persons, is negative.

Health Benefit

I am a fitness nut. I do not mean I am an expert in fitness program. I mean I regularly take into keeping my body fit. This again helps in stretching my mind rigorously, like as we say that a healthy mind is found in a healthy body. I exercise a lot, jogging, swimming, walking and aerobic. All these exercises are a keep me fit.
As such, I have to take very good care of my heart. I go for peanuts in this. So far, I have not experienced any negative issue that needs a medical attention in this respect.

You see peanuts are very rich in monounsaturated fats. Its polyunsaturated oils or fats do not possess any health risk. They do not clog or harden your circulatory system, but only promote heart health in addition to many other health benefits.

If you like eggs, milk, red meat and margarine like as I do, or any other hard fat, take a generous treat of peanuts along with these food items. This will help the saturate fats in the animal products to become unsaturated after digestion. 

In doubt this? Take some fresh red meat in a cooking pot and some peanuts with no water to simmer for 15 to 20 minutes. Removed from heat and allow to cool for one hour. Check if you can see any hard animal fat as it usually happen when fresh red meat is treated alone to simmer. The oil from the nuts will melt the fats from the meat due to the nuts unsaturatedness. 

 In fact, the diary products will complement the lack of two essential amino acids in the peanut. Another good thing to note is that no more hardening of the arteries walls will result.

This is because the nuts contain resveratrol, a flavonoid or phytonutrient that help blood flow into the brain thereby containing the risk of a stroke. Resveratrrol dilate the blood vessels to help the blood flow via, the production of nitric oxide. 

The nut is rich in oleic acid and palmitic acid found in olive oil and palm oil respectively. It is a good source of vitamin B-complex and rich in iron. Although peanuts have zero or negligible vitamin C, you can sprout them to produce the vitamin for a recipe meal.

Numerous scientific studies have shown that people who eat peanuts have less risk of cardiovascular and coronary heart diseases. Due to this, it was suggested that people eat an handful of these nuts four times in the week. In other words, you should be eating these tasty nuts every week; and if you can do this daily, all the better.

People smoke every day. People drink whisky, wines and gins every day. They say it is a social benefit or status.  It was recommended their reduced smoking and drinking to a certain amount not in a week, but in volumes daily!  All this to prevent an heart attack. And these people go on drinking DAILY the limit suggested by doctors or scientists?

But to my surprise in researching this, peanut was not suggested to be eaten daily. It was to be eaten four times in a week. I think the scientific world at times did not understand its stands well.

Protective Values

Peanuts will protect you against colon cancer. It is good in dietary fibers. Be sure to include fresh fruits and vegetables with peanuts in salad form always. I include tiny mullets thrice the size of the nuts in such salads. It complement the lack of amino acids in the nut protein.

It will further prevent and protect you against alzheimer’s disease.

It will maintain your body temperature to the extend that you are properly insulated against a cold environment other than a virus attack.

For these reasons, take an handful always with ALL your meals. The best way I can recommend is for you to slightly roast them half done. In this way, increasing they antioxidant content, and you get better health value from eating them.

An Handful Of Peanuts Daily Maintain Both Good Health And Heart Health Part1



Peanuts are good body building foods. They contain the vitamin the body need for growth (including vitamin C in their raw state) and all necessary metabolic functions. They contain carbohydrates, fats and proteins.

They proteins are not necessary complete or first class, but nevertheless an important source of the protein food that the body need for growth and repair. Raw peanuts contain carbohydrates, fats and proteins.

An handful of these tiny nuts as part of your breakfast or lunch meals can maintain the synergy balance in the body. I regularly take peanuts in all my meals whether breakfast, lunch and supper. If I need to snack a meal, freshly roasted peanuts half in raw state with a cup of black tea or added milk is all that I need to keep the energy synergy balance for the day.

Today, I roasted some handful of these raw peanuts to keep me energetic with a cup of black tea very early in the morning while hitting away on my computer keyboard to let this story out.

I have been eating peanuts since as a kid. At times I just take a tablespoonful of these nuts in the raw state. I mean I eat these without roasting them in a heating pan. And the best part of all this is that I do not get any health risk or symptoms as many can claim.

Eating peanuts in its raw state or half done or fully done do not possess and health risks. It is when you over treat the nuts in the heat or over boiling them and destroying many of its valuable vitamins and mineral matters that health hazards can result.

Peanuts have vitamin C. Vitamin C is water soluble and is destroyed by heating. Likewise, all its vitamin B complex vitamins is again destroyed by overheating in the barking pan or any source you use to treat the nuts. What about its fat soluble vitamins like A, E and D? Remember peanut is a vegetable. All these can be destroyed during the roasting or barking process if care is not taken. Even its digestible carbs, fats and proteins can all be destroyed over prolong heating. Just take an handful of the nuts now if you care into a pan. Put it on heat 30o C for only 5 minutes. It will turn black by overheating. This is a sign that it is overdone and yet the carbs got overheat including the fats. And so, all the valuable foodstuff is now a complete trash, undigestible and unfit for human consumption.

Eating such treated nuts is what cause ill-health in the first place. We think well roasted peanuts is more digestible than the half done ones. This is a misinformation on good diet.This is where skin disease, acne, pimples, blockheads, and so on came into being.

Peanuts are not your problems. These nuts are your friends. Treat them as such or as you would treat any of your human friends, you know what.

Some say it will caused you eye and breathing problems. I have not experienced such an issue. Is the subject affect being allergic to the nuts? If so, a piece of the nut overtime can help cure the issue until the body adopted itself to the nut. This is the medica materia rule of thumb, in other words, like is treat by like. I think you can understand this well. Just a piece of the nut or two taken overtime can help relief the allergic symptoms period.

Weight Issues

If you are underweight, peanuts will help you put on weight. 

To achieve this feat, you have to take some handful daily, morning or afternoon. There was a period in my life I release I am losing much weigh due to relying on much convenience foods. I start to eat half a cup daily. I begin to gain some weight.

You can do that too and it is not much an effort. Just put two handful of the nuts in a barking pan and turn on low heat 20oC and stir same for over 5 minutes and it will be done half in the raw state.

Take this with a cup of black or red tea and add milk into it to make the snack a complete protein.

Do this for over a month daily and it will surprise you how much weight you have gain.

Again, there was a period in my life I began to be very active in building my body muscles. Peanuts serve as my main supplement along with any natural meal. I will just roast one cup and chew them up and two hours before the exercise program and I proved ill-health wrong, especially cough as it is claimed.

Peanut Myths

I was a small boy and the elders say it cause cough. We are helping to treating the nuts by sieving the good nuts from the rotten items along with some small pieces of stones. We small ones will like to chew some nuts raw. Apparently they want to discourage us from eating same. They would have done a better example by taking some and treating them healthy for us. We small ones should have been grateful for the kind gesture and bless them but this was not done; so we go on eating the nuts raw. I do not remember getting sick and seeing any other of my mates sick till date.

They say it also cause eye problems. I have the healthiest eye and I do not need a glass to read even at 58 years.  Again, all my mates who eat same raw nuts I have not seen putting on eye glasses!

1.      Fish Products: Fish is the very best source of protein food for human beings. It should be a primary foodstuff in all our diet all seasons. Sardines, mullets, tuna, baracunda and many other oily fishes are more to be desire at all time. These provide additional heat from their oils. Additional benefits are that these oily fishes contained the essential omega -3 and -6 fatty acid. They help maintain a good and healthy heart. Get the best you can from fresh, frozen or dried sources. Shrimps, oysters, lobsters and clams etc are important in the diet Another good thing to notice is that fish contain many excellent first class proteins or amino acids. But bean is not an exception. Many people who do not eat this food are known to produce gas too. Meat and milk produce gas, and the letter is worst. If you use garlic regularly as a cooking ingredient, it will neutralize this action. I received a mail in my inbox few days ago from webmed. It recommended a handful of peanuts, 24 almonds, 7 walnuts and 18 pieces of cashew nuts as enough for a man. But if you think otherwise, a half cup of peanut as I preferred because I am a very action in jogging, aerobic exercise and swimming.

7.    Citrus Fruits: All types of fruits are good. But pay special attention to citrus fruits this season. Lime, lemon, grape fruit, tangerine and oranges. This is easy to understand because these fruits have been proved to contain chemicals that that protects the health and boost the digestive, respiratory and immune systems. A glass of warm lime or lemon juice in the morning before anything else is both a digestive and a cold remedy. Its plus side is that it strengthened both the respiratory and immune systems. You can add a little powder ginger root to a glass of lime juice to enhanced its effect.

8.    Vegetables: All greens or green leafy vegetables from organic gardens free of chemicals so they do not trigger a cold virus. Enjoy your favorites. Use them in stews, soup and salads. Greens like basil, sage, mint, pumpkin leaves and even the leaves of the sweet potatoes, cassava, coco yam and its system are good leafy green sources.

10.  Omega Fortified Foods : Omega-3 fortified foods in the form of breads and other products are now available in most good health food stores. It is a food supplements. In the webmedicine news letter to me, it was suggested. In spite of the many and various foods we eat daily, we still have to supplement them with this stuff. I do not know why this is so, but suffice to say that majority of us will not get enough omega -3 and -6 in combined quantity and quality in our chop plates. I am a fisher. Sardines and mullets are two of my favorite catches. I always sundry my catches and extract the oils; so I and my family do not fall short of this challenge. At times, I even baked my “Ezekiel” bread.

Preparing Your Meal: How you prepare your meal is up to you. Many recipes are available online for the type of diet you badly want for breakfast, lunch or supper. You can use your imagination to prepare your fancy chop plate, provide it is nutritious and taste great. Mix your protein, for example eggs, fish, lean meat and beans with a glass of milk or tea. This gives you four different protein sources. The same thing applies to fats, nuts, fruits and seeds, etc. Have you tried a mixture of virgin olive oil and peanut oil in any of your meals or dressing of vegetables? I do regularly and I enjoy the health benefit.

Physical Activities: With all these said on food and nutrition, what good can our meals do if we are not physical active? Exercise is an excellent aid in food digestion.
Do your aerobic exercises as you scheduled. Do them indoors this time because the room temperature will be somehow warmer than the outside. This will keep your muscles in better sharp.
Non-aerobic exercises like jogging are best doing outside including games. Jog for at least half to one mile. Jog briskly. It will tone up and sharp your leg muscles especially. This will in addition condition all your body muscles.
I will not suggest swimming here because the water gets very chillier than the outside temperature. Even if the swimming pool is slightly heated, on getting out you will get chilled again, and this is bad.
